Meet the Professor

Ryan Fleharty, Founder and President of The Interversity, began teaching English composition in 2009, while studying for his Master's in English at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After completing the degree in 2011, he returned to his home city of Chicago to teach English classes at Moraine Valley Community College and Truman City College of Chicago. While his career has been a promising start in mainstream academia, Ryan was convinced he could do more for his students, and has founded The Interversity to do so. By delivering education on a free-market basis at low cost to students, Ryan ultimately hopes to reform modern education away from the centralized planning bureaucracies responsible for the ever-present crisis in education, and restore the individual student's role in determining their own educational options.
