ASSIGNMENT 5


OK I KNOW IM FULL OF QUESTIONS TONIGHT BUT I CANT AFFORD TO LOSE ANY MORE POINTS..

FOR QUESTIONS 3, MY X VARIABLES WOULD BE THE POWERBOATS REGISTRATION, AND MY Y WOULD BE MANTEE KILLED CORRECT?

ALSO, IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS USING THE CORRELATION ANALYSIS CALCULATOR FOR SOME REASON AFTER I PLACE MY DATA IN AND HIT CALCULATE NOTHING HAPPENS! I MAY BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG MOST LIKELY.. THANKS!

You are correct on your variables and 3-3 is correct. On 3-4, when you plug all your values into the Correlation and Regression calculator, you should get formula Y=-41.430+.125x. Plug in 700 for X (Y=-41.430+.125(700)) and you should get 46.07.

For 3-5, simply take the r obtained from your calculations you just did and square it. So r=.941 and when we square this we would get .86 (or 86%). I hope that helps and I followed Dr. Guy's directions in the previous blog to get these answers, so im almost 100% sure they are right :-)
