Course Goals Western Civ I and II will cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. The purpose of this course is primarily to get you ready to pass the CLEP examination. The second purpose of this course will be to hopefully learn from history. We will look at the great triumphs and failures of Western Civilization, all the while keeping in mind that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. ... Textbook Wikipedia should be enough. ... Course Work Your responsibility will be first to read the assigned Wikipedia entries, second to memorize important dates and names that will be provided on the course website, and third to pass the CLEP exam at the end of the term! ...
