Objective: This course will provide an introduction to significant research findings about relationships that lead to marriage and the establishment of a family. Included will be information about social policy, opportunities for self-assessment, and research data comparing relationship trends in the U.S. and around the world.
Reading Assignments/Quizzes/Exams: There will be 3 weekly quizzes over assigned reading from the textbook.
Extra Points: Opportunities to earn extra points which will be added to the chapter quizzes will be announced in class. You must be present to earn these points and/or turn in the extra points assignment at the scheduled test time. There will be no provision for extra points for any make up quiz or assignment.
Requests tor make-up quizzes that are missed for any reason must be in writing and MUST be accompanied by a written excuse for the absence.
There will be a Final Exam. These exams will include class presentations as well as reading assignments from the textbook.
Group Project: Class members will participate in a group project that is worth 25% of your grade. Project groups and assignments will be made during the first week of class. Certain written parts of the project must be turned in on the scheduled date.
